Tara designs exquisite bespoke pieces in her workshop at the atmospheric Netherhampton Studio, a Queen Anne house on the Wilton estate in Salisbury. Key to her success is giving time to meeting clients, getting a feel for their style and objectives, discussing ideas and finally creating the perfect hat or headpiece for any occasion. With over 20 years' experience, Tara understands the intimate process of the work and, most importantly, how to balance a hat so that it flatters and finishes an outfit.

After graduating from London College of Fashion she obtained an apprenticeship with the legendary Milliner, Philip Treacy. During these five years of employment Tara honed her skills in couture millinery, hand blocking hats, dying fabrics, crafting flowers and impeccable workmanship.

In 1996 Tara opened her own atelier in London and went on to create hats for Royalty, mothers-of-the-bride and race-goers. In addition, a core part of her business was to supply high-end department stores and boutiques on both side of the Atlantic including Selfridges, Le Bon Marche, Calypso and labels Caroline Charles and Jaeger.

In 2012, Tara moved to the country and set up her workshop in Wilton. As well as making hats and headpieces, she fashions off-the-peg hats as well as offering a small capsule collection available to hire.

I can’t thank you enough for my exquisite bridal flower! I’m so proud that I can celebrate the occassion with something so personal and utterly perfect for the setting.
